Pipe fitting is a general term for the parts and components connected, controlled, deflected, shunt, sealed and supported in the Pipe system. According to end connections, steel pipe fittings can be divided into four categories: butt welded, socket welded, threaded and flanged. Do you know what the pipe fitting is made of?
As we know, these fittings are available in different types used in piping system and mainly consist of elbow, long radius bend, tee, reducer, union, coupling, cross, cap, swage nipple, plug, bush, expansion joint, adapters, olet, steam traps, and flanges. According the pipe end connection, the pipe fitting can be divided into butt weld fittings, socket weld fittings, threaded fittings and pipe flange. Here today we will introduce the commonly used socket weld fittings for you.
For pipe connection
Flange, Union, Coupling, hoop, etc
For pipe direction change
For pipe size change:
Reducing elbow, reinforcement pipe
For pipe branch increase
Three/ four Tee
Gasket, blind flange, pipe plug, blind plate, sealing head, welding plug
Clasp, towing hook, lifting ring, bracket, tube clamp, etc
Forged socket weld fittings material and grades:

Socket Weld Elbow/bend
The most commonly used in industrial piping are 45° socket elbows and 90° socket elbows according to standard ASME B16.11,
Socket Weld Tee/Cross
Tee/cross is a high pressure elbow pipe connection fitting formed by die forging of round steel or ingot and processed by lathe. socket weld tee/cross can be divided into the concentric socket tee and eccentric reducer socket tee.
Socket Weld Coupling
Socket weld coupling is machined from round steel or steel ingot formed by die forging, the steel pipe is inserted into the socket and jack for welding when used, so it is called "socket weld coupling". The socket weld coupling adopts the socket structure to reduce the cost of pipe joints, facilitate installation/maintenance, prevent leakage, and is widely used in civil construction, agriculture and other fields. The main manufacturing standards are ANSI/ASME B16.11, BS 3799.
