Nostalgic Warehouse -

I’m so excited to share with you images of the Nostalgic Warehouse door hardware installed in the new house! I shared all our door hardware selections in this blog post where I listed the door knob’s style, finish, and type (dummy, privacy, or passage).

When selecting door knobs for your whole house, of course, you decide on the style/finish, but you also have to determine what type of knob function you need for each door. Here are the types I had to consider in my house:

• Passage – These knobs don’t lock, but do have a latch and able to turn the knobs. I have these in areas where I need it to close but don’t need to lock. Passage knobs were in these doors: my office, interior pool house, foyer closet, linen closets, four seasons room, and utility closets. I also have passage knobs for the doors that require a deadbolt.
• Dummy (single or double) – These are fake knobs that don’t turn. A single dummy is used on one side of the door, and a double dummy is used on both sides of the door. I used single dummy knobs for the kids’ closets and upstairs laundry. I used double dummy knobs on my dining room french doors and also one of our master bathroom doors. Our master bathroom doors are double doors, so one of the doors has privacy knobs and the other has double dummy knobs.
• Privacy – These knobs lock and are used in bathrooms, bedrooms, and any other room that you want to lock. I have this for all the bedrooms and all the bathrooms. I don’t need to have my office locked and that’s why I picked a passage knob for it, but if I did want it to lock then I would have needed to use a privacy knob.
